We are pleased to announce the addition of Fellowship Trained Glaucoma Specialist, Alfred Solish, M.D.!
Dr. Solish was an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received degrees in Electrical Engineering and Political Science. He obtained his master’s degree in Computer and Information Science. Following a year as director of computing at the Retina Foundation in Boston, MA, he attended medical school at the State University of New York in Brooklyn.
After an internship at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey, he did his residency in Ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. He did a glaucoma fellowship at Washington University, St. Louis, where he studied with Drs. Bernard Becker, Alan Kolker, Michael Kass, and Theodore Krupin. He is an elected member of the American Glaucoma Society, and a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at both USC and UCLA.
There is no other ophthalmologist available in the Central Coast with fellowship training and level of experience and expertise in Glaucoma. Dr. Solish will offer the following services for your patients at our Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo locations:
• Glaucoma Screening & Evaluation
• Medical and Surgical Management of Glaucoma, including Trabeculectomy and Tube Shunts
• General Ophthalmology
Dr. Abroms will continue performing SLT and iStent procedures, as well as providing glaucoma care and consultations.
